Sony announced that they are going to launch PS5 or Play Station 5 on June 5th 1:30 am IST via an online event. Everyone could watch this event on Twitch, YouTube or PS5 official website.

According to a Bloomberg report, This event is actually planned for June 3rd due to some issues the event is postponed to June 5th.

Sony is likely to launch PS5 between October and December because its rival Microsoft is also launching its latest version Xbox Series X around the same time.

PlayStation might launch on November 20th 2020 for $499 which is around ₹37,686 according to some leaks. And few say that this price might not be accurate.

  • GPU: 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (variable frequency)

  • Memory bandwidth: 448GB/s
  • Internal storage: Custom 825GB SSD
  • IO throughput: 5.5GB/s (raw), typical 8-9GB/s (compressed)
  • Expandable storage: NVMe SSD slot
  • External storage: USB HDD support (PS4 games only)
  • Optical drive: 4K UHD Blu-ray drive

PS5 might be going to support Dolby Atmos audio and 8k video and VR headset with an external disk slot to add extra storage if necessary.

 PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 games, as the two consoles are built upon similar internal architectures. 

This will be welcome news for those who were disappointed by the PS4's lack of backwards compatibility with PS3, PS2, and PS1 games.
