Yes, you can call google assistant for answers through a toll-free number that just now works for Vodafone and Idea users only. At a google for India event, Google launched this feature for feature phone users. Users can dial 000 800 9191 000 through their Vodafone or Idea SIM and can ask questions and get a reply in English or Hindi.

The conversation experience on the phone call is similar to the smartphone built google assistant. Manuel Bronstein, Vice President, Product Management at Google, told India Today Tech that for the Phone Line service, the back-end will be handled jointly by Google and Vodafone.

The infrastructure for calls and phone support obviously comes from Vodafone-Idea while Google takes care of the Assistant once the call placed by a user connects to the internet at the backend. "The conversations are real-time and feel incredibly natural. It's like talking to someone on the phone," said Bronstein.

This feature is the same as ASK-NYPL. You can call a public library in new york to get answers from librarians. This program is started in 1967 to answer questions to the public that are difficult to find.

Over the time period, the New York public library saved a few interesting questions that are asked by the people over the telephone.

You can still call New York Public library and ask a question at 917-ASK-NYPL
