HOW TO BOOK TICKETS USING IRCTC NEW WEBSITE AND ITS NEW FEATURES

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is a subsidiary of the Indian Railways that handles the catering, tourism and online ticketing operations of the Indian railways. It's tagline is "Lifeline of the nation".

In IRCTC we can book railway tickets online, and irctc provides catering services on many important trainsPassengers can book food of their choice from vendors like Dominos to Halidram at select stations. Food is delivered at the seat . This project has the potential to become big.

Tatkal scheme

Under the Tatkal scheme, passengers who plan their journey at short notice can book their tickets in almost any trains through the Indian railways internet portal. The booking starts at 10:00 AM daily for AC coach reservation and for NON-AC timing is  11.00 AM, tatkal tickets can be booked one day prior to the departure of the train from source station. Tatkal tickets should carry a photo ID proof along with them to be shown to the ticket checker. cost of tatkal tickets is higher than usual tickets. to buy tatkal tickets you need high speed broadband.

PROCEDURE TO BOOK TICKETS IN IRCTC NEW WEBSITE AND ITS NEW FEATURES 

STEP 1 :

                 go to irctc website.

STEP 2: 

               On the top left corner of the site there is option called try new version of website

STEP 3:

              you will be redirected to new website version of irctc 

STEP 4 :

            Enter your source station and destination station and select date and click on find trains.

After choosing  from station ,  to station and select date which you want to travel and select class in which

 you want to travel and click on find trains 

STEP 5:

 you will be showing the available trains in the route  and enter number of passengers in the given box.

 STEP 6 :

          scroll down to view trains by using arrow keys..

and select the train & class you wish to travel and click on check availability next to it.

STEP 7 :

 you will be show the availability like this 

you can see 6 days availability and price  and you can see the CNF PROBABILITY   option  check it and  press on book now option. 

STEP 8:

enter your irctc id and irctc password and also enter captcha 

STEP 9:

you will be dircted to a page where you need to enter details of the passengers like name, age, gender, and preferences of the passenger (like upper breath or lower or middle or sideupper or side lower)

in the same page you need to enter your GST detail if you have any  and check the box consider for auto upgradation.

you need to enter your phone number if your phone number is changed otherwise no need to enter and do not change the travel insurance option. it just costs 10 rs per passenger. 

enter captcha given in the box. and click on continue booking.

STEP 10: 

Recheck the details of your trip

you will see the name of passengers age and their gender. and your trip details like from station and to station  and you can see the availability status if you agree the details click on continue booking if you are not satisfied click on back or replan.

STEP 11:

payment you can pay with master ,visa or rupay cards (debit or credit cards ). you can also pay with wallets like paytm, airtel money, freecharge. you can also pay with bhim,net banking and there is anew option called pay on delivery

every payment option has transaction charges ranges from 10 rupees per passenger to 18.9 rupees per passenger beware of it 

click on the suitable option and enter your card or wallet or netbanking or bhim details and press enter your money will be deducted and you will get your ticket .

do not press refresh   some times the process may take some time 

in case your money is deducted from your bank account and ticket is not issued don't worry your money will be transferred back to your account in 7- 14 working days.
