Xiaomi is now offering one-day delivery option for over 150 cities across India.

Xiaomi is the leading smartphone brand in India but besides selling its devices on other e-commerce platforms such as a Flipkart and Amazon, the company also sells products through its own online store.

With the kind of popularity that Xiaomi – and Redmi – enjoy in the country, its store hosted via Mi.com has been the third-largest e-commerce platform in the country for the last one year. Extending its services as an online shopping platform further, Xiaomi is now offering “guaranteed” one-day delivery option for over 150 cities across India.

If you place your order on Mi.com before 3PM of each day, you should receive the product the next day. This delivery option is available not just on smartphones but a wide variety of products including TVs, smart devices, and accessories.

While the service was previously limited to Bangalore, which is where Xiaomi India’s headquarters are, the service can be available in cities like Delhi/NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, and more. When you select the “Express Delivery” option while buying a product, you can enter your pin code to check if the feature is available in your city.

For the express next-day delivery, Xiaomi has a flat ₹49 charge for any location throughout India. Further, the delivery option is also available on cash on delivery. For now, the service is only available for weekdays and not on Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays. Further, the service is not currently available for exchange orders but the option should be available soon.

Xiaomi says that if the product is not delivered on the next day, the ₹49 fees will automatically be refunded within the next 5-7 days. The Express Delivery option is only available for orders made between 12 AM and 3 PM so if you miss the deadline, you can try again at midnight.

If the idea takes off, we might even see Xiaomi offering an Express Delivery membership plan like Amazon Prime and Flipkart Plus.

Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite Android One Phones Global Launch on July 24

Earlier this month, Xiaomi’s upcoming Android One smartphone, the Mi A2 was listed on a Polish e-commerce website. However, along with the Mi A2, the Polish retailer had also listed the Mi A2 Lite. Going by the specifications listed on the Polish website, it was quite clear that the Mi A2 Lite will simply be a rebranded Redmi 6 Pro with Android One software. This has now been confirmed officially as Xiaomi has released a new teaser that says Mi fans can look forward to not one but 2 new Android One smartphones at the global launch event in Spain

Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite: Global Launch Date Confirmed

The latest tweets posted by Xiaomi’s official Twitter account confirm that both the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will be making their global debut on the 24th of July in Madrid, Spain. While we were only expecting the Mi A2 to be launched in Madrid so far, it is now confirmed that the global variant of the Redmi 6 Pro will also be making its debut alongside the Mi A2. We can expect Xiaomi to hold separate launch events in countries like India soon after the global launch event in Spain.

Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite: Specifications, Features

The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be the global version of the Mi 6X, which made its debut in China in April this year. While the smartphone will run on stock Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box, it will be identical to the Mi 6X in terms of hardware specifications. The smartphone will come with a 5.99-inch IPS LCD Full-screen display featuring 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering Xiaomi’s second Android One smartphone will be a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with an Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of memory, the Mi A2 is expected to available in multiple configurations with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
On the back of the smartphone will be a 12MP + 20MP dual-camera setup with AI scene detection and AI Portrait mode features. Unlike the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Mi A2 will come with 4K Ultra HD video capture support as well. On the front of the handset will be a 20MP resolution selfie camera with AI Face Unlock support. Connectivity features will include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, 4G VoLTE, an IR blaster, and a USB Type-C port. The Android One smartphone will also have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Keeping the lights on will be a 3010mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, on the other hand, will be based on the Redmi 6 Pro. It will arrive with a 5.84-inch notched IPS display with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The company’s first notched Android One smartphone will run on Qualcomm’s popular Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU. In terms of memory, the Mi A2 Lite is expected to be available in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants. In the camera department, Mi A2 will have a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup with the same AI-assisted features like the Mi A2, while on the front will be a 5MP unit for selfies and video calls. Connectivity-wise, the smartphone will have Wi-Fi 802.11 /a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, an IR blaster, and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone will also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a large 4000mAh capacity battery.
Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite: Expected Price in India

The Mi A2 is expected to arrive in India with a starting price of Rs.15,999 or slightly higher. On the other hand, the top-end configuration is expected to be priced closer to the Rs.20,000 mark. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is expected to be priced at somewhere around the Rs.12,000 mark for the base variant.

The Lite version is on sale on China's AliExpress in two variants - one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage at $189.99 (approximately Rs. 13,000) and the other one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage at $209.99 (roughly Rs. 14,400). The same model was spotted in Poland last week with a price of PLN 999 (roughly Rs. 18,600). This suggests that the official price of the Mi A2 Lite could be cheaper than speculated.
